Current Control for Multi-phase Machine under Multiple Open-Faults Condition Using Gram-Schmidt Orthogonalization

This paper proposes a current control method for a multi-phase machine, which supports multiple open faults in windings and inverters. For the asymmetrical machine condition caused by the failures, this paper proposes to apply Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization to an extended Clark transformation. This enables to keep good control performance even under multiple faults. This digest shows some simulation results. A single failure and multiple failures were tested with a model of a none-phase
machine. The results indicate that the control performance could be kept even under the multiple fault condition.
